Als ich in den 80ern von Osnabrück nach Kiel kam, war meine erste Anlaufstelle die HAKI (Homosexuelle Aktionsgruppe Kiel). Es gab noch nicht das HAKI-Zentrum und die Gruppentreffen fanden damals in der „Pumpe“, einem stadtbekannten Kultur- und Kommunikationszentrum, statt. Sie war mein Startpunkt für mein schwules Leben in Kiel. Neben der Selbsthilfearbeit gab es im Keller auch die Lesben- und Schwulendisco der HAKI, also viel Spaß und Spannung im verrauchten Keller. When I came from Osnabrück to Kiel in the 80ies, my first place of refuge was the HAKI (Kiel’s queer organization). At that time, it did not have a proper centre and the first group meetings took place at the „Pumpe“, one of Kiel’s centres for culture and communication. The „Pumpe“ was the starting point of my gay life in Kiel. Beside the various support groups of the HAKI, there was also fun and excitement: the queer disco at the „Pumpe“ offered all that in its dark and smoky basement. Wild!
