Aus Hildesheim kommend war Hamburg für mich immer ein Sehnsuchtsort. Diese Stadt gab mir das Gefühl von „Großer Freiheit“. Hamburgs Travestiekultur hat mein Leben stark geprägt. Die Figur der Elke Winter hat mir geholfen, hier meinen Platz zu finden
Besonders am Falkensteiner Ufer finde ich jenseits meines Alter Egos meine Ruhe und sehe viele andere „Junx“, die mit ihren Hunden am Strand rumtollen. Ein Männerpaar, das seinem Hund im Café einen Vanille-Eisbecher kauft und noch Zuckerherzen draufstreut. So bunt und crazy ist mein Hamburg, selbst in stillen Ecken. Hier bin ich echt angekommen.
Coming from the fairly small town of Hildesheim, Hamburg had always been a place of desire and longing to me. The city gave me the feeling of freedom and liberty. Also, Hamburg’s travesty scene has shaped my life. The character of “Elke Winter“ has helped me find my place here.
Spending my quality time at the Falkensteiner Ufer right at the river Elbe, I find my peace and quiet. Not in character, but as myself. I see many other gay men taking their dogs out for a walk there. Once a gay couple bought vanilla ice cream for their dog and insisted on having sugar hearts on top. Blessed Hamburg, it can be so crazy and colourful, even in its most abandoned corners. It has really become my home.
